Microsoft .NET Framework
The Microsoft .NET Framework provides a collection of libraries, user interface objects, and other tools to streamline the development of Windows applications. Microsoft released the first version of .NET in 2002, and since then there have been 3 more major releases. NavRules was written and has been tested for .NET versions 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5. Microsoft recently released .NET 4.0 which is not compatible with NavRules. Prior to Windows Vista and Windows Server .NET was not included with Windows but required users to download and install it themselves. If you have Windows Vista, Windows 7, or other modern versions of Windows then .NET should already be installed. To see what versions, if any, you currently have installed we suggest you download this free .NET version checker utility from ASoft. Version numbers shown in red indicate .NET versions that are not installed. Version numbers shown in green indicate .NET versions that are installed. When you install NavRules it will tell you if a compatible version of .NET has not been found on your system. If it has not then we suggest you download either .NET 2.0 or .NET 3.5 directly from Microsoft's website. You can find the downloads for both here: For more general information on Microsoft .NET please see the Microsoft .NET Framework home page or the Wikipedia entry on .NET |
